About Me, My Profession and/or My Company:
Glenn Ellis, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, received his undergraduate education in Health System Planning at the University of Pennsylvania. He is actively involved in the health disparities education and protection of rights of human subjects and patients involved in clinical trials and healthcare.
He is a formally trained Herbalist and Homeopath, providing wellness consultations to a client base that includes celebrities as well as the elderly in communities across the country.
Ellis maintains a busy lecture schedule in the U.S. and abroad, where he highlights health disparities and medical ethics. He conducts Grand Rounds Lectures at medical schools, and workshops and seminars on Cultural Competency, Medical Ethics, and Health Disparities at a wide range of settings, and is a popular and well sought-after university guest lecturer.
He has written a weekly syndicated health column for over ten years.
Ellis is a feature writer for Real Health Magazine, as well as The National Medical Association’s, Healthy Living magazine. He also is a member of the Review Staff of the American Journal of Public Health.
He is Executive Editor-at-Large for BlackDoctors.com and contributes to BlackAmericaWeb.com and EurWeb.com., reaching millions of reader each week.
He is a favorite guest commentator on WURD and WIP radio stations in Philadelphia, as well as stations in Chicago, Los Angeles, North Carolina, Washington, DC, and Atlanta.
He has presented at Bioethics Conferences in Ukraine, The Netherlands and Germany, Cuba and Belgium. In the Fall of 2009, he will travel to speak in Croatia and Czechoslovakia.
In February 2007, he co-authored an academic paper, African American Experience with Health Care: The Case for Specific Content in Cross-Cultural Education, which was published in The Journal of Academic Medicine.
His book, Which Doctor? was published in 2006. his next book will be released in the Summer of 2009.
Currently, he is President of Strategies for Well-Being, LLC, a health education and consulting company headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he consults with national corporate clients on promoting and providing health education for consumers and providers.
