Diversity HealthWorks

We have a Wiki www.healthculturedepot.com

We have a Wiki and I am wondering if anyone has used a wiki and how might we use ours? I have a few ideas that are emerging, but the intensity would not come about until next year. Any thoughts for more immediate use?

It would be great to use the wiki to create a comprehensive business case for cultural competence in health care. The primary categories could be set up (or defined by participants), and then participants could add statistics, studies, research and case studies that demonstrate and exemplify each point. For example, we all know that retention is higher in inclusive workplaces, but maybe a member of the Diversity Healthworks community knows of a study that demonstrates this in the healthcare setting, and another knows of an article published on how the resulting continuity of care influences health outcomes, and yet another could share their personal experince of improving retention at a community health clinic.

Participants could also add tools or instruments that an organization might use to benchmark, assess progress and quantify return on investment.

Given the breadth of information that is already out there, I think a lot of content could be generated fairly quickly.

I really like that idea, Kelly. This was actually the point of us setting up Wiki from the start. In the next week or so, I will send out a broadcast message to all members and make this request. I am also considering a conversation with the owner of the CLAS-Talk list serve to see if your idea above is something that appeals to them. There are a lot of people with a lot of information, but we don't get the opportunity to share. Thanks again for the idea and we will be in touch!
